ConnCAT’s Medical Billing and Coding program is designed to fulfill the market demand for trained health system coders for public and private practice settings. The program provides adult learners the ability to analyze medical records and to identify and properly assign codes from the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10-CM) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes to diagnoses and procedures. The program also provides comprehensive understanding of insurance and billing.
Upon successful completion of the 30-week, 900-hour didactic training, students will complete a 5-week, 200-hour externship as a health system billing and coding trainee. Graduates of the program will possess skills relevant for positions in health insurance companies, physician offices, and medical billing services. Graduates will also qualify to sit for AAPC‘s CPC (Certified Professional Coder) and CPB (Certified Professional Biller) certification exams.
